Larry Peiperl

Larry rejoined PLOS in 2013 after 3 years as a Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine.  Previously he was PLOS Medicine’s Senior Research Editor. Before that he was the Director of UCSF’s Center for HIV Information as well as the Editor of the HIV InSite Knowledge Base. He trained in Internal Medicine, and has taught and practiced primary care for many years in clinics serving low-income patients. His background in clinical research includes leadership of NIH-sponsored HIV vaccine and treatment trial protocol teams.  Larry gained his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, a Master of Science degree from Stanford and his medical degree from UCSF.
