Caroline grew up in Pasadena and earned a degree in Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz. She later returned to school to complete her scientific education at San Francisco State University. She joined PLoS ONE as a Publications Assistant in August 2010 and quickly realized that it is impossible to work at PLoS without becoming a believer in the Open Access movement. When she is not at the office making information everybody’s knowledge and nobody’s property, she likes to cook, read, and practice yoga. She also has an exceptional cat named Arthur.
