As I have been impressed by the quality of papers published in PLoS Biology, I want to tell you how delighted I am to have one of my own accepted in this journal. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of our study, PLoS Biology was our clear first choice." - Eric Long
I was really impressed by the quality of your reviewers' review reports and suggestions...I have comparisons since I have some publications in other major journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Annals of Internal Medicine..." - Karl Michaƫlsson
The amount of attention that our article received was almost overwhelming. Publication in PLoS Medicine has played a prominent role in my emerging academic career." - Jeffrey Lacasse
I first heard about PLoS from an email announcement when the concept was initially floated and thought that it was a great idea. I have been concerned for some time now that control of access to information by self-appointed/self-interested 'gatekeepers' is a terrible idea (just look at how we got into Iraq). A couple of years ago when we had a very important finding regarding the frameshift signal of the SARS-associated coronavirus, I chose to submit to PLoS Biology specifically because I wanted to show my support for the journal by giving it first access to this important work. More recently, smitten by the interactivity and forward-looking nature of PLoS ONE, I published a very nice piece of ribosome structural biology in that journal. Currently, I have two more manuscripts being processed by PLoS journals, and I plan in the future to make PLoS journals my first choice for submission of my best work." - Jonathan Dinman
